An exciting opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the Boots UK Finance team as Finance Business Partner - Pharmacy, as part of the Pharmacy Business partnering team. This is an exciting opportunity to join our pharmacy finance team, supporting the in-year trading, strategy and decision-making of the Pharmacy Services business. We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to drive performance to deliver financial targets, deliver and advise on commercial initiatives and bring insight, challenge and relationship-building and influencing skills to the role.
This role will support the Pharmacy Services team, reporting to the Head of Finance for Pharmacy, and will work closely with our FP&A and Financial Control teams. They will have direct relationships with the Director of Healthcare Services and their team.
Key responsibilities
- Drive financial performance and deliver on financial targets for the Pharmacy Services business.
- Advise on commercial initiatives and provide insightful analysis to support decision-making.
- Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to influence and drive accountability.
- Support cash and working capital management to optimise operational efficiency.
- Ensure robust capex governance and control for investment programmes.
What you'll need to have (our must-haves)
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
- Previous finance manager experience working as a business partner with strong commercial awareness.
- Engagement in the wider finance function, supporting finance transformation programmes. Building a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Proven track record of partnering with senior cross-functional leaders (e.g., Operations, Commercial, Supply Chain, Digital, Marketing).
- Cash and working capital management experience, with the ability to optimise cash flow and support operational efficiency.
- Proven capex governance and control capability, ensuring robust evaluation, approval, and tracking of investment programmes.
- End-to-end P&L ownership experience, partnering closely with business leaders to drive financial performance, influence decision-making, and embed commercial accountability.
- Experience influencing long-term business strategy.
- Ability to challenge constructively, influence decisions, and drive accountability.
- Experience improving forecasting accuracy and creating planning disciplines across teams.
- Strong understanding of reporting/ERP systems (e.g., SAP, BW, TM1, Power BI).
It would be great if you also have
- Experience in the pharmacy or healthcare sector.
- Familiarity with financial planning processes in large, complex environments.
