Job Description

This Manager role plays a critical part in managing the c USD1 billion annual expenses budget for the Europe region to support Visa's objectives and growth strategy. They are responsible for monthly reporting with a high-level of visibility to the Europe CFO and Global teams. They also serve as a Finance Business Partner (FBP) for corporate functions, providing strategic finance support to members of the Leadership Team. In addition, they will 'own' a specific General Ledger line to be expert on analysing trends and producing projections.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reporting
    • With the Senior Director, review monthly results and prepare and present commentary for the Europe CFO, Europe Leadership team and for HQ review
    • Prepare analysis of quarterly results, incl. quarter-on-quarter, vs prior year and vs prior year-to-date for global reporting, including reviewing USD constant and nominal results
  • Business Partnering and GL Ownership
    • Provide support and challenge to the Leadership Teams of some of the corporate functions, including Technology, such that there is effective and efficient use of the budget aligned to strategy, and accountability for spend. Coverage will depend on the background of the candidate and other changes on the team.
    • For the functions that they support, partner to produce an annual budget proposal and lead the quarterly re-forecast process through the year, and support the consolidation for the Europe region as a whole
    • Liaise closely with FBPs, Controllership, and other colleagues, be expert in an area of GL spend and produce forecasts for centrally held items. These are likely to be aligned to the business functions you support, e.g. Network & Processing for Technology
  • Tools & Processes
    • Become an expert in Hyperion and GEAR, and support maintenance of the cost hierarchy for Europe within Hyperion, working closely with Finance Shared Services (for technical support) and Global Financial Planning & Analysis
    • Provide team managers in the areas you support with simple and effective tools to enable them to manage to budget
    • Contribute to the ongoing development of management tools and information

This role will report to the Senior Director, Europe FP&A, and will be based in London (Paddington). They will work closely with another manager (with some rotation of responsibilities) and provide support to the Senior Manager for Europe opex consolidation and analytics.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

  • Business Partnering experience.
  • Ability to build and cultivate effective relationships with senior business stakeholders and the Finance function at a regional and global level
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail, and also the ability to see the big picture, interpret trends and tell the story
  • Expert user in Excel skills and the ability and confidence to manage large data sets. Data analytics experience and application of data tools (R, Python, SQL) and Finance systems (Hyperion) knowledge are desirable
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with limited guidance within a complex and commercially oriented environment, able to deliver to deadlines

Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic, and flexible, with an appetite to engage with wider FBP community
Experience in the payments and good knowledge of banking industry is preferred
