Job Description

As the Finance Analytics Manager, you will cover both operational and commercial tasks. You will ensure Finance and BI data and metrics are harmonised, doing so in a way that aligns with the tools and processes set by group data & technical teams. Commercial initiatives will include evolving our approach to customer value segmentation, considering both acquisition and retention.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Analytics, you will be part of the commercial FP&A team which is responsible for the delivery of high quality exco performance analysis and financial planning across the markets we operate, as well as supporting with growth and efficiency initiatives. We are a new team, and our scope is varied and evolving.

Finance Analytics support the Performance and Planning teams by providing customer behaviour analytics that feed into our exco reporting, financial forecasting, and ad hoc analysis. Its aim is to establish common frameworks to assess customer value, in order to inform business decisions and identify growth and efficiency opportunities.

It's essential this person can build relationships across finance, data, operations, local and central teams, driving initiatives to completion in accordance with the group timetable. They will have the gravitas and EQ to influence and manage upwards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own, publish, and maintain the centralised cohort KPIs and database, providing self-service solutions for regional and commercial teams
  • Incorporate new customer value and segmentation methodologies into the cohort data model
  • Prepare & publish monthly trend analysis on customer metrics
  • Align BI definitions with Finance data and work with group and regional teams to ensure methodologies are embedded in local systems and tools
  • Provide adhoc analytics support on special projects relating to operating efficiency and growth initiatives
  • Automation and evolution of recurring outputs using analytical tools
  • Project manage the sourcing of data from region and global teams. Design the 'proof of concept' and coordinate efficient permanent solutions with the supporting data team
  • Stay up to date with Entain analytics tools, Power BI & Snowflake, ensuring team outputs leverage their capabilities efficiently
  • Monitor changes to the underlying data structure and migrations to and from the Entain data warehouse and implement these changes to the cohort database on time
  • Build strong relationships with group, regional and data teams

Qualifications

  • Significant relevant experience (mid-senior level) across either commercial finance, business performance, banking, consulting, or similar corporate roles.
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and scripting for analysis (e.g. Python, R) and experience working with relational databases, as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases (Snowflake, Teradata or any other).
  • Knowledge of Visualisation tools ie., Power BI/Tableau and a good grasp of visual analytics
  • Experience conducting rigorous analysis with large and complex datasets to drive business recommendations and monitor results
  • Understanding of customer economics in a consumer led business, with matching sector experience a plus
  • Strong communication skills and effectiveness in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Be an owner - drive projects to completion with a commitment to high-quality results
  • Experience in delivering analytics initiatives within a complex and multi-stakeholder environment
