An exciting opportunity has arisen to contribute to the successful delivery of the Services within Facilities Management.
The successful candidate will be a person with a proven track record in delivering premises related functions and will join us to support Sheffield City Council in ensuring it fulfils its Values, Statutory duties and delivers agreed performance standards.
The team delivers numerous activities to ensure that buildings are Clean, Safe, Warm and Fit for Purpose, through our internal teams and contract partners, for service users throughout Sheffield.
The role will require the successful candidate to manage a flexible assigned portfolio of sites, a team of facilities staff, the performance of contract partners and ensuring effective liaison with the users so they can fulfil their function delivering service to the people of Sheffield.
You will need to be able to put people at the heart of what we do to ensure we effectively listen to and support our staff and the people that use our sites, help wellbeing along with challenging discrimination.
You will need an open and honest approach to your work by fostering an environment that supports people in speaking up and bringing diverse ideas to what we offer, along with seeking out feedback on the way we work.
You will need to recognise that you will be a key person that will ensure that together we get things done so people improve and take pride in what we do.
In achieving this you will need the ability to support staff, raise standards, undertake effective communication, monitor partner providers' activity, in each of your assigned of the buildings and with all the staff you are responsible for along with effectively reporting against your objectives.
You will need to have excellent management skills, with problem solving attributes along with being enthusiastic, confident, and well organised. Ideally you will have experience and/or formal qualifications in Facilities Management service delivery or related activity.
You will also need knowledge and/or formal qualification/experience of Facility related Health and Safety, statutory testing and can monitor staff /contractor performance to ensure your success.
The Service makes extensive use of IT systems to support, manage and monitor service delivery so experience in this area will ideally be required. You will need to demonstrate excellent customer liaison skills to ensure you to deliver on the wide-ranging objectives required by the post.
Hours: 37 supporting 7am - 7pm service delivery
Worksite: Manor Lane, but can work across whole of Sheffield

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
