Job Description

Key responsibilities:

  • Craft and implement a comprehensive external communication strategy aligned with Smiths Detection's global objectives.
  • Deliver compelling campaigns aligned to the four pillars of our 'Communicate for Impact' strategy - impact on society, digital transformation, sustainability, and people.
  • Produce engaging content, including press releases, blogs, thought leadership articles, videos, animations, and social media posts
  • Collaborate with the global marketing team to ensure cohesive messaging, impactful storytelling, and consistent branding across all platforms.
  • Elevate the profile of senior leaders as industry experts through strategic content and speaking opportunities.
  • Leverage high-profile events to maximise brand visibility and communication impact.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging opportunities to position Smiths Detection as a trusted authority in the screening solution sector.
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership on communication performance and outcomes.
  • Grow the Smiths Detection brand by building trust and recognition, maintaining consistent messaging across digital platforms, websites, and media.

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

The successful candidate will have excellent written and oral communication skills, and will demonstrate the following key attributes

  • Significant experience in a similar position essential
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field of study or equivalent relevant experience preferred
  • Creative, with a good eye for design
  • Strong knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, Google Ads, and other paid media platforms.
  • Proficiency with content management systems (CMS)
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
  • Ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
  • Skilled in creative writing
  • Analytical, able to tell stories with data and make recommendations
  • Self-starter - able to motivate yourself
  • Able to manage priorities and deliver under pressure
  • Strong enough to challenge established practices, champion change and stand up for what you believe in
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, Hubspot, SEMrush and/or other similar tools
