Job Title: Export Control Practitioner

Salary: £29,667+ depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Bring broad expertise, applying knowledge of export control procedures to audits, projects, and communications, and providing practical guidance to the business on the importance of export control

  • Operate in a supportive capacity to the EC Lead Professional, carrying out export control activities in line with established business processes

  • Assist in formal Export Control investigations, compiling and presenting evidence for assessment against potential breaches

  • Help maintain up-to-date written Export Control processes, procedures, and user guides, and conduct audits to assess compliance with business processes

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages

  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to work confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels

  • Working knowledge of BAE’s core business processes, procedures, and toolsets

Desirable:

  • Knowledge and understanding of Export Control regulations and related working practices

  • Previous experience in logistics, commercial, or supply chain roles

  • Experience working in a process-driven or compliance-focused environment

The team:

Act as an export control practitioner, supporting the business’s export control activities by applying knowledge and experience of export control procedures. This role offers the opportunity to work within a specialist support function on an exciting submarine programme – managing licences, understanding business strategy, embedding compliance, and collaborating with customers and industrial partners. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.

Many roles also require higher levels of National Security Vetting where applicants must typically have 5 to 10 years of continuous residency in the UK depending on the vetting level required for the role, to allow for meaningful security vetting checks.
