The Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) line of business of Allianz Commercial creates innovative tailored structured insurance, captive reinsurance, and other non-traditional risk management solutions for a wide range of corporate and financial clients globally. We specialize in helping our customers mitigate their most complex risks with bespoke multi-year and multi-line agreements covering a broad range of risks, leveraging our expertise in alternative risk transfer and the global capabilities of the Allianz Group.
The Impact You Will Have
Reporting to the Global Markets Leader ART, you will develop and implement the global ART LoB strategy for ESG solutions, working closely with the rest of the ART LoB and the Allianz Commercial ESG & Sustainability Central Team. You will serve as the Subject Matter Expert responsible for ART LoB ESG global underwriting results, including market management and underwriting. You will develop cross-sell opportunities with AGCS and create innovative and complex solutions in a fast-changing environment. You will be a professional thought leader in ESG risk transfer solutions.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
- Develop and execute a global ART strategy for ESG underwriting and business development to achieve profitable growth.
- Identify market opportunities, including target markets, segments, and clients, and implement strategic global market management tools.
- Develop and implement global guidelines to enhance underwriting efficiency and accuracy, while managing ESG underwriting results.
- Lead new ESG product development opportunities in ART and interface with Allianz group products, leveraging the strong Allianz brand.
- Represent ART positively within Allianz Commercial, Allianz Group, and externally, while building long-term relationships with key clients, brokers, and other functions.
- Maintain comprehensive client and industry segment insights, deliver market and competitor insights, and implement KPIs and SLAs for global and local business improvement.
- Explore the potential to drive parametric solutions.
What You'll Bring to the Role:
- Strategic Underwriting & Planning: Define segmentation and client differentiation strategies; develop innovative solutions and communicate strategies in a fast-changing environment.
- Business Insight & Tools: Implement methodologies for market, competitor, and client insight; utilize experience to manage sales distribution channels effectively.
- Insurance & Transactional Expertise: In-depth knowledge of large and specialty risk insurance; negotiate, structure, and execute complex insurance and financial transactions.
- Entrepreneurial Impact: Demonstrate entrepreneurial behavior that positively influences strategy and results.
- Experience & Track Record: Minimum 5 to 7 years in specialty areas; proven lead underwriter with comprehensive quantitative skills, possibly actuarial.
- Stakeholder & Market Management: Influence strategic position holders across locations and functions; apply knowledge of market operations, business, and customer needs.
- Communication Skills: Clearly express ideas and messages both written and verbally; skilled negotiation at senior levels internally and externally.
- AI: Expertise in integrating AI into various business functions, enhancing efficiency, and fostering a culture of data-driven innovation is crucial.
The annualized base pay range for this role is $215,292 - $335,088. The posted salary range is only applicable to applicants based in the United States. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position may be above and will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the AzC total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
