The Role
Location: UK remote
Contract: fixed-term for 6 months , with possible extension (not guaranteed)
We are seeking a highly driven and detail-oriented Executive Researcher to support hiring across a range of roles, with a strong focus on senior and executive-level talent within the defence sector .
This role plays a critical part in identifying, mapping, and engaging top talent globally, including passive candidates with specialised expertise in defence.
Key Accountabilities
- Conducting in-depth market mapping and research to identify high-calibre executives and senior professionals within the defence sector.
- Developing and executing innovative sourcing strategies using a mix of tools (LinkedIn Recruiter, databases, industry networks, referrals, Boolean search).
- Identifying and engage passive candidates through tailored outreach strategies.
- Providing data-driven insights on talent availability, competitor mapping, compensation trends, and industry movements.
- Preparing talent landscape reports to support hiring strategies and workforce planning.
- Partnering closely with recruiters, hiring managers, and business leaders to understand role requirements and hiring priorities.
- Acting as a trusted advisor on sourcing strategies for complex and hard-to-fill roles.
- Conducting initial screening conversations to assess suitability and interest.
- Maintaining accurate candidate records in ATS/CRM systems.
- Building and nurturing long-term talent pools for future hiring needs.
- Handling sensitive executive-level searches with discretion and professionalism.
Skills & Requirements
- Proven experience in executive research in defence sector is a must have.
- Experience working on complex, hard-to-fill roles across multiple levels.
- Strong expertise in sourcing techniques (LinkedIn Recruiter, Boolean search, talent mapping, competitor analysis, AI sourcing).
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Ability to influence and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, growth mindset.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
