Executive Medical Director

We are looking for a Medical Doctor with 7+ years of experience, a background in health tech, and a passion for the role of AI in shaping the future of healthcare. You'll lead professionals across various medical teams, support adherence to medical device regulations, steer a robust Clinical Validation strategy, and ensure clinical quality, safety, and efficacy of Infermedica's products.

Experience

    • Medical Doctor with 7+ years experience as a practicing physician
    • Experience working in a technology organization, preferably within a growth-stage health tech company (Series B+)
    • Passion and dedication to the pivotal role of Artificial Intelligence in shaping the global landscape of healthcare
    • Exceptional leadership skills and experience leading teams
    • Willingness and capacity to dedicate a minimum of 120 hours per month

Knowledge / Skills

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Understanding of the fundamental principles underpinning the training and validation of Artificial Intelligence systems
    • Adeptness in understanding and critically evaluating complex systems

Nice to have

    • Presently practicing in a primary care setting
    • Specialization in the field of general practice (Primary Care, Family medicine, Internal medicine, Urgent Care, or equivalent), public health, or epidemiology
    • Masters (or relevant experience) in Medical Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or a similar field
    • Proficiency in navigating the Medical Device Regulations
    • Familiarity with the US healthcare system, clinical practices, and primary care reimbursement protocols
    • Demonstrable history of publications subjected to peer review
    • Attainment of a Ph.D. title

Leadership presence and collaboration

    • As the Executive Medical Director, you will report directly to the CEO and closely collaborate with Medical Team Leaders and product leadership, including the Chief Product Officer. You will act as an executive champion, representing the perspectives of clinicians and patients in the daily operations of our Executive team.

Team management

    • In your role as the executive representative of the medical vertical, you will provide leadership for medical professionals around the company. This includes direct line management of team leaders and driving personal development initiatives among team members to foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Clinical Validation and product strategy

    • Co-developing a robust and scalable Clinical Validation strategy, you will collaborate with the Clinical Validation, Product, and AI teams. Your responsibilities will include enhancing our approach to clinical validation, working on the medical content strategy for future product development, and contributing to the overall Infermedica strategy. You will ensure the clinical quality, safety, and efficacy of products through continual and systematic analysis of product performance.

Regulatory compliance and external engagement

    • In close collaboration with Legal and Regulatory officers, you will support the process around ensuring compliance with medical device regulations. Leveraging extensive medical and technological experience, you will support our commercial teams by engaging with senior clinical leaders from key customers and prospects. As an executive medical representative, your external representation of the company will be through participation in events, publications, white papers, and other marketing activities.

    • While our team is geographically dispersed, we are seeking candidates based in Europe (preferably the UK) for this specific role.
