Job Description
What will you be doing?
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Professional Services Marketing team in Birmingham or London. As Events and Merchandising Manager you will join a growing Marketing team, where you will have responsibility for delivering weekly events, webinars, regional events and merchandising. This opportunity will require UK travel.
As Events & Merchandising Manager, your responsibilities will include among others
- Develop and implement a strategic delivery plan for each event, delivering high quality output that matches the brief
- Work across large/small scale virtual events using Zoom, Teams and Hopin from inception to post event analysis including facilitating during the virtual event
- Work across large/small scale events, seminars, conferences, exhibitions and networking events including front of house on-site
- Agree the objective of each event and the relevant marketing metrics that will be measured to evaluate the success at event conception. Produce simple report per event to assess these, making recommendations for improvement
- Set, communicate and maintain timelines and priorities on every project and document when these change
- Manage costs to make sure all events are delivered within the set budgets
- Coordinate systems management, asset creation, online promotion and slides for webinars
- Coordinate venue management, caterers, stand designers, contractors, speakers and equipment hire for in person events
- Manage invite and attendee lists and input/extract information on/from the firm's database for relevant event campaigns.
- Work with marketing colleagues to maximize event impact - content, email, social media, web team etc
- Post event analysis and recommendations to maximise the impact of the event going forward, the collation of leads generated from an event and contributions to the Marketing Teams reporting process
- Liaise with the business and compliance to gain approval and sign off where necessary and building time for this into the planning process.
- Work with the Regional Marketing Manager and other regional stakeholders to maximise the impact of the national events programme (especially webinars and virtual conferences)
- Work with Business Development colleagues where events are predominantly lead generation. Create a joined up approach and present as one voice to stakeholders
- Work with specialist suppliers to create a suite of merchandising suitable for our PS client base. Refreshing and maintaining the catalogue and stocks of items to ensure ongoing availability for call off.
- Monitor the competitor, regulatory, industry and economic environments in order to innovate creative and fresh ideas to the team
- To have clear sight of the long-term ambition of the PS marketing proposition, whilst also identifying and delivering short-term gains/quick wins where appropriate
- Stay up to date with any systems or technological updates
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should
- Proven events management experience
- Demonstrate strong experience of managing events within a corporate organisation or agency environment
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of managing an event from idea through to reporting
- Technical knowledge and comfortable using recording tools such as zoom and MS Teams.
- Strong implementation skills, focusing on delivery of events on-time and on-budget
- Creative thinking - bringing new ideas for event engagement to the team
- Multiple projects Project Management
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of relevant IT packages, e.g. PowerPoint, Excel
- Attention to detail and a good level of accuracy
