About the Role:
Reporting jointly to the LSM Head of Tax and the GRS Head of Cross Border Enablement, the successful candidate will primarily be responsible for transfer pricing oversight in EMEA, ensuring that tax requirements are met. The successful candidate will need to take ownership or key projects and deliverables. As a business partner, the successful candidate will engage in exciting and versatile tasks in an international and dynamic environment.
About the Department & Team:
The LSM Tax Department is comprised of a dynamic team of tax professionals managing LSM's UK and European internal tax matters and compliance processes as well supporting other internal functions and businesses across the LSM network across the globe.
The GRS Cross Border Enablement Team is a Global team of transfer pricing experts responsible for setting the strategic direction, financial oversight and governance for GRS Cross-Border services for North America (US, Canada & Bermuda), Legacy ARM, Latin America, and Europe ensuring tax and regulatory requirements are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and advise on risks associated with the implementation of existing transfer pricing policies
- Seek opportunities to implement improved transfer pricing processes and controls
- Identify and advise on transfer pricing associated tax risks associated with our growing international presence and work of national and supranational organisations, such as the OECD
- Maintain and reinforce relationships for our ongoing transfer pricing engagements with external advisers
- Input where required on EMEA tax audits instigated by local tax authorities, including providing technical transfer pricing input and working with our advisers assisting with the audits
- Provide transfer pricing support to tax filing positions
- Apply the existing transfer pricing policies through day-to-day work
- Apply the process and controls through business as usual tasks, using best practice methods and collaboration with other Business Partners (Legal, HR, FP&A, Controllership, Expenses, etc.).
- Work with and support the Corporate and Business Segment tax and transfer pricing teams to ensure consistency with our wider compliance obligations
- Support and work with the senior stakeholders across the business acting as a trusted advisor on transfer pricing queries and other ad hoc tax queries
- Look to collaborate and knowledge share with other business functions which impact tax and/or transfer pricing
- Adherence to all relevant regulatory requirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration of behaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate to your role, is core to LSM's commitment to our Liberty Values, placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving with integrity. Skills and Experience:
- Relevant professional certification (e.g. ACA or CTA (or equivalent));
- Strong technical skills, with a good level of demonstrable transfer pricing experience or a combination of transfer pricing and international tax or finance, where the focus has been specifically on transfer pricing;
- Practical knowledge and extensive prior application of OECD Transfer Pricing Guidelines is required and experience with EU transfer pricing regimes would be desirable;
- Solid understanding of Finance Tools and Analytical Methods.
- An understanding of the application of international accounting standards (including UK GAAP and US GAAP);
- Communicates well with own team and across organizational boundaries to ensure the successful completion of shared goals;
- Comfortable leading meetings and able to communicate issues and trends to senior management and other groups at the appropriate level of detail;
- Must demonstrate attention to detail in a fast-paced work environment and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously to drive results;
- A self-starter, with proven ability to solve complex transfer pricing issues and take ownership in delivering solutions. Must be able to effectively build relationships with and advise internal stakeholders and collaborate in delivering pragmatic solutions;
- Ability to take a balanced and neutral approach in navigating challenges that could arise.
