Our hospitals and community sites provide a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services, as well as emergency and planned care. The Trust is rated as "good" or "outstanding" in over three-quarters of the services inspected by the Care Quality Commission.

Every year our work includes performing 10,000 procedures in our theatres; bringing seven and a half thousand new lives into the world; carrying out 570,000 visits to patients in their homes or communities and providing emergency care for more than 300,000 patients arriving in our busy Urgent and Emergency Departments.

LGT is a centre for the education and training of medical students enrolled with King's College London's GKT School of Medical Education. We are a training centre for nurses, midwives and allied health professionals. Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Estates & Facilities Department for the position of Estates Manager, PFI and Contracts.

This post will provide comprehensive support to the Head of Contracts and Performance and the Estates & Facilities team in all aspects of the delivery of contract monitoring in relation to the Hard FM services, ensuring compliance with contract terms, specifications and Key Performance Indicators.

Main duties of the job

Candidates should have substantial experience in the delivery of Estates & Facilities management services within the healthcare environment and have extensive knowledge of Estates and Facilities management/FM related contracts and monitoring procedures and methods. The post holder will also possess detailed knowledge of health and safety, engineering and building law, fire and water regulations and electrical, mechanical and building systems in a health service or similar environment.

  • Educated to Masters level or experience gained through training and experience
  • Evidence of continued learning and professional development

Experience

Essential criteria

  • Substantial experience in the delivery of Estates & Facilities Management Services within the healthcare environment
  • Knowledge of Estates & Facilities management/FM related contracts and monitoring procedures and methods
  • Experience of managing staff
  • Project Management Experience

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of working in an acute hospital environment

Knowledge & skills

Essential criteria

  • Evidence of an understanding of contractual and commercial aspects of hard and soft facilities services
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety, Engineering and building law, fire regulations and water safety
  • Detailed knowledge of electrical, mechanical and building systems in a health service or similar environment
  • Evidence of experience of undertaking audits and surveys in relation to contract monitoring, compliance with KPI's, H&S and other compliance frameworks
  • Highly numerate and literate with good analytical skills. Ability to think logically and apply concepts to operational activities

Desirable criteria

  • Knowledge of HTM's and other health-related guidance on estates management
