The Role

This role is working for a leading global automotive client who is a long-standing client of WPP and going through a hugely important, and exciting, period of change.

A digital native and expert in cross-channel video, programmatic, search and social media, you'll play a key role in shaping the client's approach to brand and performance focused, multi-layered campaigns for your markets.

Your ability to understand the brands needs and translate them into a cross channel media plan will be essential.

Job purpose:

This role will sit within the ESO (Eastern Sales Operation) Planning team, you will be the sole person responsible for planning and client management across 2-4 of the ESO Markets. These markets include: Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Romania and have annual budgets ranging from $1.5m to $7.5m.

The Planning Account Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of allocated markets. You will lead the charge on media planning across central biddable (social, search, programmatic - all activated by our hub here in London) and local offline channels (managed by local colleagues) in line with regional strategy and manage client/agency challenges as they arise.

About the team and reporting structure:

This role reports into the ESO Planning Lead and sits alongside 2 other ESO Planning Managers, we are in the office 2-3 days a week and ensure we're using our agency perks (like our social fund) and going for lunch together at least once per quarter.

We are a hardworking and close-knit group of colleagues who deliver high standards of work to both our local and regional clients.

You will also work in collaboration with the wider agency team; spanning strategy, social, programmatic, search, and data.

Relationships:

The Account Manager will have direct client contact, providing a holistic leadership on all things media related. You will see yourself as an extension on their marketing team, acting as a consultant and strategic partner. You will have strong working relationships with our media, creative agency (VML, part of WPP), and potentially some vendors, helping to develop solutions for the client. Finally, you will build rapport with the rest of the team as well as other colleagues.
The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be passionate about their assigned clients' business and how that translates into media objectives across our ESO Markets. The individual will have solid foundation working in a media agency and be comfortable running campaigns in line with financial processes.

We're looking for someone who not only excels in their role but also uplifts the team spirit with their positive attitude and collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate should be supportive of their colleagues, eager to pitch in when needed, and able to maintain enthusiasm even during challenging times.
Essential Criteria

  • Proven media planning/buying experience, including focused online biddable experience
  • Performance-minded individual, who understands the how to plan accounting for: sales targets, target audiences, reach, frequency, strategic consumer planning, competitor activity
  • Strong client servicing skills essential to build client trust and confidence
  • Great verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to confidently and clearly present work to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent numeric and analytical skills, with the ability to relate results to client's business objectives, and translate statistics into insight and actions
  • Experience working with activation teams and ensuring structure, organisation and high-quality output from peers
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage processes and outputs effectively
  • Ability to manage yours time/priorities in an independent fashion
  • Experience in PO/finance management
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience in using industry and project management tools such as YouGov, Wrike, MAP (or plan management tool), reporting dashboards (or experience in campaign reporting), Google Trends

Responsibilities

  • Client Management: All management and communication with local market clients. Including weekly status reports shared via email and monthly reporting calls.
  • Campaign Planning and Buying: we want you to be proactive in finding out how Ford can best meet it targets in your markets. Showing innovation and leadership with all aspects of campaign planning, researched consumer insights, cultural trends. Planning and tracking media campaigns to ensure financial efficiencies are met
  • Forecasting: ensure forecasts are reviewed on a monthly basis in line with updated plans based on targets
  • End-to-end Campaign Implementation: You will be responsible for ensuring the activation and maintenance of all campaigns. This includes, but is not limited to; briefing the activation team (on our project management tool, Wrike) through to ensuring trafficking is set up correctly, asset delivery (form our partners, VML), through to pulling together monthly reports to share with clients based on performance
  • Finance: Financial and performance reporting are crucial to the account management procedure. You will be responsible for the PO tracker on a rolling basis to ensure spend is in line with plan and budgets set.
  • Campaign reporting: You will be responsible for the reporting outputs, developing insights and learnings that have implications that lead to campaign optimisations for current and future activity
