Job Description
What will you be doing?
We're seeking a talented individual to support the Group Finance Director in developing and meeting the ESG Strategy of the Group. This role will work collaboratively with teams across the business including finance, facilities management, procurement, human resources, legal, risk management and compliance. The role will also manage supplier relationships and projects related to ESG plus other stakeholder requirements.
As ESG Manager, your responsibilities will include among others:
- Managing projects and monitoring the progress of the ESG Strategy and the Environment Strategy, ensuring that progress is monitored against the strategy and is reported in line with requirements.
- Preparation of external reports related to the firm's Corporate and Social responsibility and preparation of internal reports related to the firm's Corporate and Social responsibility to boards, management and colleagues.
- Leading on supplier ESG engagement including defining a Roadmap for supplier ESG minimum requirements to ensure that their journey aligns with the requirements of the organisation, including any Net Zero requirements. This includes managing and monitoring the responses to supplier ESG questionnaires.
- Leading on colleague sustainability engagement and managing the relationship and engagement with 'Pawprint', a third-party sustainability engagement platform.
- Supporting bid teams and others with ESG questionnaires, including making available materials to enable self-service for less complex requirements.
- Regularly update environmental policies, in accordance with the governance requirements, ensuring that ESG is embedded within all other relevant policies, reflecting business requirements and expectations.
- Regulation and expectations related to ESG and the environment is developing at pace and this role will be required need to keep abreast with and report on those changes.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the ESG risks and opportunities and identify initiatives to minimise risks and maximise opportunities.
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Previous experience in an ESG role, with commercial experience with good business acumen.
- Passionate about ESG and keen to learn and develop as ESG is a rapidly evolving area.
- Good report writing, presentation skills and communication skills and ability to liaise with colleagues at all levels.
- Ability to lead and manage teams; a team player who can also work independently.
- Strategic thinker with the confidence to drive and implement solutions and initiatives.
- Strong collaboration skills as role will need to work across business teams and with offices around the organisation.
Desired:
- ESG, Sustainability or Finance related degree with an interest in ESG and Sustainability.
- Minimum GSCE Grade 5 (B) for both English and Maths, or equivalent.
- Numerical skills would be an advantage. .
