ERP Transformation Programme Manager

KPMG's Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare (IGH) practice is at the forefront of helping define and transform key public services for the United Kingdom. Our work is helping national and local government define how services will be delivered to citizens across the UK. Our work covers a wide spectrum of public services including health care, education, offender management, policing, border security, transport, international trade and services for agriculture, food and the environment as well as services for employment and tax/benefits management.

Sitting within our high-performing and award-winning Connected Technology group, the Project, Programme and Portfolio Management team builds long term relationships with our clients and works alongside them to shape digital strategies and complex transformations that unlock the benefits of current and emerging technologies. We help mobilise transformation programmes to make these a reality by embedding leading methodologies to deliver outcomes confidently with minimum risk.

The role

You will be delivering complex ERP transformation programmes involving multiple workstreams. Experience with Oracle ERP is highly desirable but experience in other solutions such as SAP will be considered. You will be working in a challenging and dynamic environment and will be delivering technology transformation programmes for our public sector clients to drive business and societal change. As part of the role, you will be managing delivery teams, onshore and offshore suppliers and numerous senior stakeholders. You will be the main point of contact from a client engagement perspective and will manage relationships to build collaborative working, trust and to communicate programme updates.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of delivering end-to-end ERP Transformation programmes.
  • Experience with Oracle ERP is highly desirable
  • Experience working with Public Sector organisations within a Consulting environment is highly desirable
  • A track record of shaping and leading successful delivery of technology, data and business transformation initiatives
  • Adept at working closely with business, technology and data teams
  • Experience of identifying and mitigating delivery risks, as well as leading the resolution of issues / blockers
  • Experience in managing third party vendors and providers
  • Experience in robust and business relevant project reporting at all levels
  • An ability to provide clarity around priorities and goals of programme
  • An ability to manage project costs, including the establishment of baseline costs and tracking, and contingency planning
  • To be seen amongst peers as a role model and SME in hybrid - agile/waterfall project management approaches
  • An ability to coach the organisation and key stakeholders relating to the benefits and advantages of relevant programme / project methodologies
  • An ability to identify all internal/external resources required to complete programmes successfully
  • An ability to forecast resource utilisation, time, costs and other commitments required
  • An understanding of relevant legislation, governance models and processes
  • Experience in horizon scanning to keep an eye on the latest strategies, tools, terminologies used in project management and relevant technology development
  • Willingness to participate in sales and contribute to winning engagements.

Key Attributes

  • A natural interest in technology and passionate about technology enabled change
  • A genuine interest and desire to work in the public sector - previous experience of working in this sector is preferred though not essential
  • Demonstrable experience of applying project/programme management methodologies in complex delivery and stakeholder environments
  • Proven experience of successfully contributing to complex technology projects in a commercial environment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work
  • Business analysis experience (e.g. requirements definition, process mapping, operating model definition), systems integration, systems implementation, testing
  • Proven ability to work at sustained levels of high intensity and inspire drive and resilience in others
  • An ability to develop relationships both internally and with clients at a senior level
  • High energy levels, coupled with a desire to deliver to a high standard in tight timeframes
  • A self-motivating mindset and also to be able to inspire and motivate others
  • Strong leadership skills, with a track record in the management of teams and delivery of projects.
  • Confidence in dealing with complexity and ambiguity - setting direction and engaging stakeholders
  • Ideally holding accreditation within waterfall / agile project management delivery (e.g. Prince 2, MSP, APM, SAFe Agile, Certified Scrum Master)
  • Strong experience in the use of project management tools (e.g. MS Project, JIRA)
  • Experience in Business Development activities - potentially including Proposition Development, Pursuit Management and Proposal Development

Candidates must be eligible, able to gain and retain National Security Vetting at the level of Security Check (SC).
