We are now seeking an experienced Environmental & Sustainability Manager to join our Rail business and play a pivotal role in driving environmental excellence strategy and sustainable practices across our Western and Wales frameworks.

What you'll be doing

As a Environmental & Sustainability Manager you will:

  • Lead on the implementation of environmental and sustainability strategies across a diverse Rail portfolio
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, standards, and client requirements.
  • Work closely with project teams, clients, regulators, and stakeholders to embed best practice
  • Identify opportunities for carbon reduction, resource efficiency, and environmental enhancements
  • Champion innovation in sustainability, supporting Balfour Beatty's Net Zero ambitions.

Who we're looking for

You will have the following:

  • Will have strong experience in environmental and sustainability management within construction or infrastructure (rail preferred).
  • Possess excellent knowledge of UK environmental legislation and sustainability frameworks.
  • Be a confident communicator, able to engage teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Hold a relevant degree or professional qualification (IEMA, CEnv, or equivalent desirable).
  • Brings a passion for driving real change and leaving a positive legacy for people and the environment.
