Your role and responsibilities
- supporting the County Council's response to the declaration of a Climate Emergency and target to achieve net zero emissions by 2030, you will sit within a small group of Environment Strategy Officers who liaise with teams across the County Council and beyond to decarbonise Suffolk's transport emissions
- your focus is to lead on the effective engagement of Suffolk's residents in relation to our Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure-funded project (LEVI). This project, being rolled-out as part of the Council's 'Plug in Suffolk' network, will see thousands of on-street public EV chargepoints installed to help residents who can't charge an EV at home make the transition to electric vehicles
- you will have support in this work from the Senior Project Manager, and 2 Project Support Officers, as well as from the EV chargepoint operators we are working with
- you'll work at both Endeavour House in Ipswich and Riverside in Lowestoft, as these two communities will receive the greatest volume of on-street chargepoints and so we anticipate residents in these two locations will need the most support.
You will need

- an understanding of climate change and how transport decarbonisation fits within our response to it
- excellent organisation skills including working to fixed deadlines
- ability to handle difficult or challenging correspondence/communications from residents.
