Enterprise Risk MI Manager

This is a senior role to provide impactful, insightful and concise reporting to the Connells Executive Board, Audit & Risk Committee, Connells Limited Board, and Skipton Building Society.

You will be required to lead on the ongoing development and production of, and resulting actions from, risk reporting across all of the Connells Group level 1 (principal) risks.

Working as part of the Enterprise Risk team you will ensure that reporting processes are effective and efficient and provide awareness, information, and decisions in relation to the risk profile across the Group.

The role demands an experienced individual with the ability to understand different types of risk and provide context and a clear picture of the Group's risk profile, and control design/operation against risk appetite.

Your responsibilities:

• Risk reporting - production and ongoing development of reporting into governance and senior stakeholders including aggregation of individual risks to subsidiary boards, functional management meetings, and Executive Board, Executive Risk Committee, Audit & Risk Committee, and Connells Limited Board
• Policy governance - maintaining a schedule of risk policies, and ensuring policy updates and approvals are undertaken as required
• Critical analysis - tracking and reviewing/analysing data and information including risk event and breach data through to conclusion, working with 2nd line colleagues to ensure effective management
• Risk appetite - supporting the Head of Enterprise Risk in the development and proposals for risk appetite statements and metrics, and effective monitoring and reporting against risk appetite
• Effectiveness & Efficiency - optimise the collection, analysis and reporting of risk data and information using automation / systems / AI as appropriate
• Risk Performance - Monitor delivery of risk data and information returns, and working with the Senior Risk Managers maintain risk performance data for discussion with the Head of Enterprise Risk (e.g. accuracy and timeliness of returns, and responsiveness to requests for information)
• Stakeholder engagement - Navigate and build relationships across the Connells Group, building trust and understanding of the importance of effective risk management to ensure a strong risk management culture
• Knowledge - keep abreast of industry best practice and developments in risk management, data aggregation and reporting
• Collaborate - Cross function collaboration with 2nd line functions including Compliance, Risk, and Data Protection, and with embedded Risk & Compliance colleagues' areas across the Estate Agency, and Lettings businesses
• Support - provide support on specific activities to the Head of Enterprise Risk
• Resilience - self-motivated with the ability to prioritise time and to react to changing priorities

The ideal candidate will have:

• Sound knowledge and experience of 2nd line risk management and enterprise risk reporting activities
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements relating to operational risk and other risk disciplines (FCA) including SYSC, Conduct Risk, TCF, UK GDPR, industry scheme rules
• Proven ability to lead risk assessments, and arrive at risk-based conclusions and recommendations
• Experience at developing and enhancing risk frameworks
• Experience of risk frameworks, ideally in a Financial Services environment.
• Strong reporting experience, providing concise and insightful reports and updates in a clear and precise manner whilst ensuring a commercial approach is maintained
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing abilities able to work across large and complex businesses and the credibility to work well with Directors/ Senior Management
