Job Title: Engineering Manager – Support Engineering

Salary: From £55,000 depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Manage the oversight and governance of the delivery of and derivation of the maintenance activities and procedures. With this, you will need to ensure that the design for support and through life support requirements are in place and fit for purpose
- Author and maintain a Dreadnought Alliance Maintenance Management Plan
- Co-ordinate the Technical Lead ownership and reviewing of the “in-build and in-service” maintenance provided by BAE Systems on Dreadnought and her equipment, while also coordinating technical reviews of all supportability related work on behalf of the Alliance
- Act as the point of contact for all maintenance related supportability tasking, with particular emphasis on working relationships with DSST, BAE, Babcock, and Rolls Royce
- Co-ordinate Technical Lead ownership and reviewing of the operating procedures by BAE’S on Dreadnought and her equipment
- Act as the point of contact and authority for all relevant maintenance related Working Groups including: DSST Maintenance WG, Test & Commissioning Dreadnought Maintenance WG
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline or relevant experience in either submarine operations or submarine systems engineering
- Experience and knowledge of supporting with accurate, expert decisions and advice, whilst carefully considering alternative options and empower others to make decisions where appropriate
Desirable:
- Previous experience of working in a Design Authority/Approving Authority role
- Wide ranging depth and breadth of technical experience in own specialism, with knowledge and application of Systems Engineering approaches

The Alliance Support Engineering Team:
The Dreadnought Alliance is formed between the Ministry of Defence’s Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA), BAE Systems and Rolls-Royce. The Alliance Engineering team are responsible for delivery of safe and fit for purpose Dreadnought submarines to the Whole Boat Technical Specification.
By joining us in the role and team, you will be responsible for Supportability, Availability, Reliability and Maintainability associated with the system and platform design and the engineering goodness of ILS deliverables including Maintenance Instructions and Operating Procedures. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
