A Snapshot of your day

As an Engineering Manager within the protection team at Siemens Energy in Newcastle upon Tyne, England, you will play a crucial role in leading a team of 5-10 protection engineers and their supporting technicians. Your primary responsibility will be to design, test, and deliver a suite of project solutions for UK transmission operator substations. You will be accountable for the cost, program, and quality of the deliverables produced by your team, as well as their personal development. Collaboration with other Engineering Managers in the fields of Primary, Civil, and SCADA engineering will be essential to ensure a coordinated design is achieved.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager - Secondary Engineering for the UK and Ireland, you will bring the following skills and qualifications to the role:

Skills and Qualifications:

• A university degree in electrical engineering or a relevant qualification
• Extensive knowledge of control and protection engineering with various UK power industry customers
• Excellent understanding of technology, product roadmap, and value engineering
• Proficiency in UK client approval processes, including type registration, ENA, and equipment approval
• Fluent English communication skills, both spoken and written
• Strong team skills, initiative, and customer orientation
