The Role
We're looking for an Engineering Managerto lead our hardware electronics team at our Livingston/Bathgate Design Centre. In this role, you'll be the driving force behind our core technology, managing projects and guiding a team of skilled engineers to deliver exceptional results for our customers.
You'll be a key player in shaping our team's culture and success. We need a leader who can not only manage projects on time and on budget but also empower their team to reach their full potential.
In this role, you will:
- Project & Cost Management: You'll oversee all aspects of company and customer projects, from managing resources and budgets to leading the team in finding innovative solutions. You'll also be responsible for optimising your team's workflow, ensuring they're focused on high-impact activities.
- Technical Leadership & Quality: You will be responsible for the technical success of our programs, ensuring we understand customer needs and have the right people and processes in place to meet them. You'll proactively identify project risks and implement solutions to keep things on track, all while upholding and improving our quality standards.
- Talent Development: As a leader, you'll hire diverse and highly skilled engineers who can help us grow. You'll be a mentor and a coach, focusing on employee development, succession planning, and helping each team member achieve their career goals. We'll rely on you to embody and champion our core values, holding your team to the same high standards.
Education and requirements:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required. A Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration is a plus.
- Seven or more years of related engineering experience is required.
- Two or more years of project management experience is preferred.
- Prior experience in a service-based industry is also a plus.
