What you'll do:
- Design, deliver and own the services, APIs and overall backed architecture underpinning a greenfield project in our portfolio of apps
- Collaborate with engineers to ensure our architectural choices and tech stack (PHP currently, Kotlin in the future) align with the broader tech and product strategy
- Help the entire Bumble technology team transition to modern practices and frameworks, leveraging experience in migrations, evolutions, and large-scale transformations
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, ensuring the team meets quality standards and delivery commitments while maintaining an inclusive, high-performance culture
- Create tangible objectives that link team deliverables with overall business and engineering visions. Monitor progress and provide visibility to all stakeholders
- Actively spot dependencies, inefficiencies, or roadblocks, pushing for both short- and long-term resolutions
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to align on priorities, share knowledge, and encourage best practices
- Oversee career development for direct reports, setting clear expectations, providing feedback, and ensuring team members have a clear path for progression
- Be an ambassador of Bumble Inc. culture and values, who sets the standards by example
About you:
- 4-5 years of people management experience in an engineering environment (backend or full-stack mobile-first preferred)

- Comfortable working in agile or hybrid delivery environments, with a collaborative and adaptable mindset
- Ready to champion and educate others on modern product engineering practices and ways of working
- Able to balance strategic and tactical demands, challenging the status quo and empowering your team to innovate
