Engineering Manager (Core Credit Platform)

Your new role at NewDay

We are building the next generation of our card issuing platform. We prioritise security and reliability over everything else, and we are looking for engineering managers to join us to in our mission to deliver a modern, scalable and effective platform.

Required is a passion for engineering and how software should be built along with a focus on innovation and building amazing products for customers that make a difference.

What You'll Deliver:

  • Responsible for delivering a fully production-ready core credit platform, scalable to support multiple clients.
  • Managing a strategic roadmap to meet our engineering commitments, driving operational excellence.
  • Deliver robust hiring plans to ensure we bring in top-tier talent and hit our recruitment targets.
  • You will have a clear pathway to deliver continuous engineering improvements and innovation.

What You'll Bring:

  • You will have Leadership experience managing 3+ teams (15+ engineers with at least 2 years of experience).
  • Technical experience in TypeScript, C#, .NET, Java, or Kotlin (5+ years-though this isn't a hands-on role).
  • Exposure to system architecture expertise, able to collaborate on designing cutting-edge solutions.
  • Team development skills-coaching, mentoring, and nurturing talent.
  • Outstanding communication, easily conveying ideas to engineers, product teams, and senior leadership.
  • Problem-solving prowess, with a knack for identifying challenges early and creating effective solutions.
  • Strong collaboration across departments like Product, Platform Engineering, Data, and QA.
  • Sharp decision-making-thriving in fast-paced environments with analytical insight.

We would love you to know or learn

  • Experience building and launching credit-focused financial platforms/products.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure.
