Job Title: Engineering Administrator

Location: Halifax, NS

What you’ll be doing:

  • Act as a key communication point between internal teams, external stakeholders, and clients, ensuring smooth and professional interactions across all levels
  • Compile, draft, and review data and reports for project managers and engineers, including but not limited to: monthly reports, meeting minutes, and team deliverables, to support project success
  • Anticipate team needs and proactively offer support, suggesting improvements to enhance team efficiency and task execution
  • Manage multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritizing based on urgency and importance to ensure timely and accurate completion
  • Assist in maintaining the technical integrity of work packages, ensuring clear and accurate communication with both internal and external stakeholders

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook) with a solid understanding of each program’s capabilities
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of administrative experience, demonstrating a proven history of efficiency and attention to detail
  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision

Desirable:

  • Experience with a project reporting toolset (e.g. Windchill and Tableau)
  • Previous experience assisting in quality audits across multiple teams

The River Class Destroyer Project Delivery team:

The BAE Systems Canada Inc. Naval ships Engineering team is part of The RCD (River Class Destroyer) project. The project is part of Canada’s National Shipbuilding Strategy. The RCD project is the largest and most complex shipbuilding initiative in Canada since World War II. The project will help revitalize the Canadian shipbuilding industry, sustaining and creating thousands of high-skill jobs and enabling Canada to support the ships domestically when in service.
