Engineer, Industrial Decarbonisation (mid to senior level)

Our mission is to help manufacturing companies implement their decarbonisation roadmaps. Manufacturing is responsible for 29% of all greenhouse gas emissions, but unfortunately many companies struggle with implementing new technology. Decarb OS is a software platform with powerful tools for sustainability teams, managers and engineers, and detailed decarbonisation playbooks that can be configured for each factory. We are a brand new company, supported by Deep Science Ventures, Oxy Low Carbon Ventures and Net Zero Technology Centre.

We are looking for looking for engineers that will help us create decarbonisation playbooks and build analytics and tools for our software platform. You be joining a small team and working closely with the founders, other engineers, software developers and our customers.

What will you do?

• Analyse decarbonisation solutions and their application in different industrial processes
• Help create decarbonisation playbooks for different technologies, processes and industrial sectors
• Help build analytics and tools for sustainability teams, management and engineers
• Speak to customers to understand their needs
• Help accelerate progress on industrial decarbonisation

Requirements

• You have 5+ years of engineering experience, preferably in the area of industrial decarbonisation

• You have a practical understanding of heat and power generating technologies (e.g. boilers, engines, heat pumps, steam and gas turbines)
• You have a deep knowledge of renewable technologies and their practical implementation
• You are happy to do some travel, visiting clients across the UK and sometimes overseas
• You are passionate about sustainability and decarbonisation
• You are ambitious and want to be an important part of a new company

We would particularly love it if

• You have experience modelling industrial processes and renewable technologies
• You also understand the commercial and operational challenges to industrial decarbonisation
