Job Title: Engineer – Combat Systems Platform Integration (ICS)

Salary: up to £49393 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • A point of contact for Combat Systems Communication
  • Supporting and providing technical overview to the Technical Lead & Principal
  • Execute system specific tasks in line with programme dates and direction of Tech Lead
  • Assisting in the development of designated attached Early Careers
  • Articulated communication capability when liaising across the BAE Programme Disciplines and other Stakeholders
  • Technical input to ECB with Change Tasks completion thereafter and preparation for modelling

Your skills and experiences:

Essentials:

  • HNC/HND in relevant discipline
  • Start the journey of Professional Registration (IET, ENCOSSE, etc)
  • Experience of Physical integration during the design lifecycle. Technical dissection and understanding of VFI & TDP’s

Desirable:

  • Experience of Integrated Communications System in a Naval environment.
  • Time served preferably with Combat Systems or Naval Communication/Networks Systems

Engineers at all levels should possess an academic qualification in Engineering or other related STEM subjects as well as specific (either academic or professional) qualifications and become recognised as Incorporated or Chartered Engineers through an appropriate recognised professional institution.

Engineers are encouraged, and will be supported, to achieve the relevant accreditation.

Preference will be given to candidates who are already professionally registered.

The ICS and Under Water Team:

ICS and Under Water Team: Canada has selected the BAE Systems Type 26 Global Combat Ship (GCS) design for the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) under a subcontract from Lockheed Martin Canada (LMCa). BAE Systems is the Warship designer for a 15-ship programme for the Royal Canadian Navy in an initial three-year contract. Irving Shipbuilding Inc. is the nominated shipbuilder within Canada.

As part of a technical team of engineers, involved in various engineering activities such as managing technical issues, defining and updating technical risks, managing and leading configuration control including technical document baselines.

Part of this role will involve interfacing with a variety of Internal and External stakeholders including suppliers, operations/production, detailed designers and the customer, whilst continually maintaining quality. In addition, there is the opportunity to attend overseas meetings/workshops in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.
