What we're looking for
A full time Engagement Manager is now required to join the strategic communications team. This role will lead the sharing of Lloyd's Register Foundation's mission, programmes of work and our success stories across the colleague network of our trading company, Lloyd's Register (LR) - a leading global classification society.

The role

  • Effectively and creatively help 'tell the Foundation's story' within Lloyd's Register, using internal communication channels, town halls, client safety forums and other key events.
  • Embed our shared social purpose internally across the Foundation and LR through developing and sharing engaging and meaningful content.
  • Amplify Foundation generated content and messages (including around our joint initiatives such as the LR Maritime Decarbonisation Hub) across the LR colleague network globally.
  • Build relationships and work closely with LR's internal communication team to ensure messages are tailored, targeted and planned in appropriately with other group wide messaging.
  • Work collaboratively with LR's internal communication team on key deliverables which require Foundation input, such as the annual leadership summit, companywide conference and ongoing employee value proposition programme to ensure Foundation colleagues and messaging are appropriately represented, integrated and aligned
  • Support the Foundation's Pathway to Impact initiative in which LR employees are invited to apply for funding and volunteering time to help engineer a safer world.
  • Help to build Foundation colleagues understanding of the maritime sector, opportunities and challenges, build our networks within the sector through LR's expertise and relationships, as well as increase our awareness of LR colleagues' roles and responsibilities.
  • Work with the Foundation's strategic communications team to embed the new Foundation strategy within the Foundation itself and across LR.
  • Work with the Head of Communications to deliver Foundation all team meetings, organising speakers and content.
  • Work with the Head of Communications to deliver Foundation town halls across LR's geographical footprint as agreed.

What you bring

  • Significant experience in an engagement, interface and/or internal communications role within a complex global communications function
  • Experience of working with technical and engineering communities of practice (desirable)
  • Experience of convening groups of employees and quickly building good working relationships
  • Experience of working with a variety of internal communication channels including SharePoint and Viva Engage (previously Yammer)
  • Knowledge of the charity sector (desirable)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A good understanding of the maritime sector
  • Experience of working in a matrix multi-site organisation
