Your Role

As Engagement and Internal Communication Manager you will play a significant role in shaping workplace culture. You will take the lead on our colleague engagement initiatives including driving our Fedcap "Colleague Voice" through adoption of our engagement surveys and working closely with our colleague representative communities. You will take an innovative approach to develop our colleague experience at all stages of the employee life cycle.

You will be responsible for our internal communication strategy and will own the internal communications calendar and internal colleague events. This will include revision of our internal communication channels and innovation through technology to enable two way discussion and feedback.

You will work closely with the People team and senior leadership to improve people practices and support the organisation's commitment to being a great place to work.

Location: flexible

Travel: Occasional national travel will be required (expenses covered by the business)

Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and integrate within wider Marketing and People functions.
  • Support Director of People and Leadership Team to develop People Strategy.
  • Lead on the development of aligned internal communication and engagement strategies, supporting Fedcap to be a great place to work.
  • Design and implement comprehensive engagement programmes that align with Fedcap's strategic objectives and culture.
  • Own and enhance our "Colleague Voice" mechanisms through various channels including engagement surveys and feedback from our colleague representatives.
  • Facilitate focus groups to gather colleague feedback on workplace satisfaction, motivation, and engagement levels.
  • Create and maintain an internal communication strategy and annual calendar to ensure colleagues are informed, engaged, and feel valued within the organisation.
  • Create compelling and creative content, through a variety of internal communications channels in adherence with our brand guidelines.
  • Innovate through technology to enhance our internal communication channels.
  • Plan and execute internal events such as Company Socials and Employee Recognition Awards to foster a cohesive and motivated workplace culture.
  • Map colleague experience across the employee lifecycle and identify opportunities to create moments that matter.
  • Support Employer Brand Collateral Creation that reflects our company's values and culture.
  • Work closely with our PMO function, as a member of the scrum, to enable effective communication of business changes
  • Any other ad hoc duties in line with business requirements.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Ability to role model our values of Kindness, Respect, Integrity, and Innovation
  • Organised and efficient with your time as you manage the day-to-day internal communications and engagement activity
  • Creative and innovative, you'll keep looking for new ideas and ways to build and tell our story, driving engagement across the company.
  • A qualified/ experienced writer with proven experience of sourcing, creating and editing written content and copy to a high standard, you'll oversee copy across the wider team and ensure content is accurate and on message.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to resolving issues and improving processes.
  • People-focused and empathetic, with a commitment to delivering high-quality engagement and internal communication services.
  • Detail-oriented and organised, with a focus on ensuring impactful and good quality services, products and copy.
  • Proactive and solutions-oriented, with the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement change.
  • Collaborative and adaptable, able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and support the wider People team.

Desirable

  • Proven experience in employee engagement, internal communications, or a similar role at a senior level.
