That's where your Engagement and Communication leadership comes in, as our Engagement and Communications Manager reporting into our Senior People Partner within our Group Transport sector. Creating and supporting the delivery of internal communications and engagement strategies, delivering a best-in-class colleague experience that helps to support driving the people agenda forward. Working in collaboration with sites and our union partners to develop and deliver our Communication Strategy.

Key Responsibilities
- Developing and delivering an internal communications strategy across our network in an unionised environment
- Support the delivery of our Industrial Relations strategy through appropriate engagement initiatives and communications
- Design and creation of mixed-media materials to include weekly / monthly newsletters, Viva Engage posting schedule, digital screen content creation and maintenance, ad hoc visual design requests.
- With the Regional People Partners, lead and develop our internal engagement forums to give our colleagues a voice and enable development of clear employee desired engagement activities
- Ensure communications campaigns are designed to support site initiatives, wellbeing activity and the Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging calendar of events
- Develop effective relationships with senior operational, People leads, Union partners and colleague champions to maximise colleagues' engagement in events, and lead on a campaign each month
- Design and support a clear communication plan for the operational teams
- Measure the effectiveness of ongoing site communications processes and ensure consistency of communications material across site and all teams
- Work closely with the People and Training teams to promote Apprenticeship activity and L&D opportunities, supporting the development of a learning culture across the contract
- Drive and promote the colleague engagement survey, providing support to local operational teams to help encourage high levels of completion, realistic action planning and delivery of key actions
- Develop and maintain links with third party providers, local community partners and media; promoting and facilitating networking opportunities and building relationships
- Work with operational stakeholders and Engagement Champions to drive and ensure a consistent approach across the network
- Support the People Partner team with ad-hoc projects where required to drive broader cultural development
- Be able to work independently and on own initiative as internal comms SME for the network
- Support brand group communication campaigns and initiatives, ensuring that they align to the customer requirements and be an active member of the Internal Communications Network
This role supports our sites across the country and will require frequent travel to sites. As we support a 24/7 operation you will need to support activities outside the traditional 9-5 on occasions but they will be yours to plan!
What Will You Bring To Our Team
We're looking for you to be proactive, adaptable and resilient and have the below experience.
- In depth knowledge and experience in internal communications roles
- Experience in a People/ Communication role in an unionised environment
- Logistics / retail background (desirable)
- Excellent relationship building skills at all levels with both senior stakeholders & customers
- Robust, resilient and diplomatic
- Capacity to work with a wide range of stakeholders with conflicting priorities
- Ability to meet deadlines and cope with pressure
- High levels of passion, positivity and drive
