Our first system, the Allye Max, is an innovative 320kWh mobile energy storage system using repurposed electric vehicle batteries. It is up to, two-times cheaper and has 60% lower embedded CO2 than other similar systems. Our teams are developing the hardware and software solutions to transform how our energy is managed at the grid-edge.

Following successful testing, pilots with major companies and further engineering development, the Max is now ready for series production engineering. Due to our rapid growth, the team at Allye is expanding in multiple areas, increasing the depth and strength of our team of energy hustlers.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Energy Storage Installation Project Manager to lead and manage the installation of battery energy storage systems (BESS). The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of grid and energy installations, regulatory standards, and G99 processes.

This role requires a strong background in managing contractor activities, including groundworks and cable installations, with a proven track record of successful project completions. This role will require you to travel throughout the UK and occasionally within Europe for short periods of time.

You will have a Safety-First approach to all work and be comfortable in challenging things that are not as they should be. You will be required to always represent the company to the highest standards.

Educational Requirements & Relating Experience:

(Essential)

  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of battery energy storage installation projects.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects comply with relevant regulations, including G99 processes, and maintain relationships with DNOs (Distribution Network Operators), regulatory bodies, and standards organizations.
  • Contractor Coordination: Manage and coordinate activities of contractors, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
  • Cost Management: Oversee budgeting and financial aspects of projects, particularly concerning groundworks and cable installation.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of installation and safety.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Documentation: Ensure all project documentation is complete and accurate, including regulatory filings, project reports, and contractor agreements.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track and report on project performance metrics, ensuring continuous improvement and operational excellence.

(Desirable)

  • Experience in automotive engineering, especially EV's
  • Strong knowledge of the DNO engineering requirements for new connections to the networks
  • Experience in the use of CAD software packages or other electrical design software
  • IOSH or NEBOSH qualification
  • Degree in electrical power engineering
  • Qualifications in EV charging or solar installations
  • Understanding of Computer networking

Minimum Qualifications:

  • City & Guilds 2382-18 requirements for electrical installations
  • City & Guilds 2391 inspection, testing & certification of electrical installations
  • BPEC award in Electrical Energy Storage Systems or equivalent
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, Project Management, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • ECS Gold Card holder
  • Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2, or other relevant project management certifications is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience managing large-scale energy storage or renewable energy projects.
  • Technical Knowledge: In-depth understanding of grid and energy installations, including G99 processes and regulatory compliance.
  • Contractor Management: Proven experience in managing contractor activities and understanding associated costs in civil engineering.
  • Successful Track Record: Demonstrable success stories of past projects with examples of challenges overcome and project deliverables met.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local and international standards and regulations related to energy storage installations.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills, with a strong ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
