Responsibilities

About the role

Senior Strategy Directors at Lucid Inspire the delivery exceptional communications solutions, by leading and coaching the translation of commercial/medical strategy into multi-/omni-channel programme implementation with demonstrable impact to health outcomes

Our Senior Strategy Directors are responsible for:

    • Effectively challenges clients to build deeper understanding of the healthcare problem and potential solutions
    • Provide strategic counsel to our clients across all aspects of healthcare comms
    • Builds long-lasting, meaningful partnerships with senior leaders in pharma who are accountable for the commercialisation of leading assets
    • Writes (co-creating with clients) high-quality briefs that accurately capture the healthcare problem at a range of tactical and strategic levels
    • Provides strategic counsel on client briefs including RFPs, identifying which specialists across the healthcare communications team to involve in responding to client challenges, working with client services to build appropriate teams, including the full suite of functions required to meet the opportunity
    • Plays a leading role in the RFP/proposal development, effectively briefing and onboarding teams to collaborate to address client problems and build exceptional healthcare solutions
    • Drive team to access relevant established client insights work, and where gaps, propose, generate and extract meaningful insights required to inform project direction
    • Apply insights to generate transformative strategic solution(s)/big ideas
    • Defines clear programme objectives and strategic imperatives, ensuring the approach ladders up to Lucid's vision of transforming lives and the visions of our client organisations
    • Is an expert and role model in Lucid methodologies, educating teams to apply appropriate situations
    • Consults teams on collaborative design process for meaningful solutions, including the application of digital and traditional tactics within multi-/omni-channel programme design
    • Advocates digital marketing best practices including design thinking, UX/UI design, SEO, content design, data-led design
    • Advocates effective use of channels such as email, social media, paid media, website and virtual meetings
    • Directs the structure of effective content design (including video, visual, written, meeting and workshop content) with the user and format in mind
    • Through client and third-party partnerships, translates the client strategy to identify outcomes datasets that can support tactical and impact level measurement
    • Consults strategists and analysts on the identification of trends and insights metrics collection
    • Demonstrates individual and collective responsibility through respectful partnerships across teams representing ~£4-6M of client revenue
    • Representation on Lucid vertical leadership team, providing strategic counsel to General Manager and other business leaders
    • Leads the advocacy of strategic healthcare communications across the team - see things that others don't and ensuring our work goes beyond providing tactical deliverables, and meets higher outcome goals
    • Coaches strategic thinking and consultative partnerships and teaches subject matter expertise
    • Identifies and leads the build of new products and methodologies to meet Lucid's evolving services and client needs
    • Contributes to Lucid marketing, such as via industry thought leadership
    • Potentially has line management responsibilities for others in the strategy function (Strategists and/or Analysts)

Essential criteria:

  • Extensive communications and/or pharmaceutical industry experience, including experience within healthcare communications, either working within an agency or in-house
  • Able to integrate capabilities across healthcare communications in a bespoke way to create a seamless solution to address a client need
  • Able to think strategically and problem solve
  • Able to work independently and proactively
  • Able to understand and apply big- and-small picture thinking where appropriate
  • Soft influence skills and ability to collaborate with wide range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to prioritise and multitask
  • Demonstrate gravitas and sell ideas and solutions through strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and workshops
  • Core computer skills - Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desirable criteria:

  • Digitally literate, understanding concepts and processes relevant to healthcare communications
  • Working understanding of the regulatory environment of the pharmaceutical industry including the ABPI Code of Practice
