Energy Recovery Facility Graduate

Salary: Base salary of £30,000 plus Veolia Benefits Package
Location: Newhaven ERF, North Quay Road, Newhaven, BN9 0AB
Hours: 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday
Programme Duration: 2-year programme starting September 2026

Graduate Programme;

Our comprehensive Graduate Programme offers hands-on experience working on strategic projects while developing essential personal and professional skills. You'll receive expert training from Veolia's People Development team through monthly sessions at our Kingswood (Cannock) office (travel required), giving you the confidence and capabilities to thrive in your future career.

What you'll be doing;

  • Support the operations team in Operating / monitoring plant from a Central Control Room, operate plant and equipment as required by the operational demands of the ERF
  • Liaise with other Company staff as required to provide efficient work scheduling and planning to ensure minimum turnaround times during plant outages
  • Monitor trends in performance to drive safety, compliance and efficiency improvements
  • Support system improvements and ensure best practices
  • Contribute to projects on site
  • Interpret performance data in reports for internal & external submission
  • Carry out other reasonable tasks and duties as requested by management
  • Undertake continuing personal development to enhance knowledge & skills relevant to the role

What we're looking for;

  • Degree level qualification in engineering discipline (to be achieved by September 2026)
  • Willingness to travel to training locations and potentially (if in a rotational role) relocate for role requirements
  • An understanding of relevant environmental and health and safety issues.
  • Good analytical and evaluation skills, in identifying and responding to plant abnormalities and contributing to the continual improvement of plant performance.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and development
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Eager to learn and passionate
  • Creative problem-solving and a passion for trying new ideas
  • Candidates must hold a full UK driving licence
