Why Join KPMG as an ER Manager?

As an Employee Relations Manager, you will play a vital role in providing business-focused and best practice HR support to a designated area of the business, with a primary expertise in Employee Relations. Your responsibilities may also extend across the broader People function and various advisory areas. Reporting to the Head of People Advisory Services, you will act as the key contact point for all HR matters for People Leaders & HR Colleagues in your business area, taking a leadership role in driving excellence in Employee relations cases and activities of varying complexity. Your credibility as a commercial business advisor will be essential, and you will work collaboratively with HR Business Partners and the wider PAS team to ensure seamless and first-class HR service delivery.

What will you be doing?

  • Proactively build strong and enduring relationships with key stakeholders, including clients in the business, HR Business Partner teams, and Centres of Excellence (CoEs).
  • Assist in up-skilling performance managers, People Leaders, Business Partners, and People Advisors in HR matters.
  • Resolve straightforward and complex people issues with a focus on commercially pragmatic outcomes, escalating as necessary.
  • Support People Leaders with HR policy and process implementation, such as Intelligent Working requests and relocations.
  • Advise on disciplinary, grievance, and performance issues, including exam training failures.
  • Leadership of large-scale ER Programmes including Redundancy and TUPE
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of absence management, providing advice to performance managers, People Leaders, and partners on dealing with long-term or persistent absences, including OH referrals. Coach performance managers and People Leaders on return-to-work conversations.
  • Coach immediate direct reports and less experienced colleagues and new joiners on key policies, processes, and approaches, providing guidance as needed.
  • Proactively share knowledge and experience across the team, promoting a team player mindset.

What will you need to do it?

  • Demonstrable experience in Employee Relations, preferably within a fast-moving and responsive HR team.
  • Ability to progress alongside the Firm and adapt to rapidly evolving HR practices.
  • Have a high level of competency in applying employment law, staying updated with changes and legal advancements.

Skills we'd love to see/Amazing Extras:

  • CIPD or CIPD Part Qualified but this is by no means essential.

This position will largely be based from either location .
