Emerging Technology Risk Manager

Kennedys is looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic delivery manager to join our Data Risk Team managing existing and emerging risks around our information and data, privacy and new technologies including in the areas of AI, sustainable technology and cyber.

Team

Kennedys Risk & Compliance team handles a wide range of partnership and risk and compliance issues for the firm and acts as an in-house legal department assisting with regulatory and professional conduct enquiries. Within this the Data Risk Team specialises in risk to data, privacy and information and ethics as well as compliance with associated regulations and best practise globally. This includes keeping abreast of new and emerging risks associated with ever developing technology such as AI o and Edge Computing. This role will work on a wide range of projects across all of these areas.

Key responsibilities

  • Co-ordinating and supporting the work of the team in delivering projects embedding new processes across the global business
  • Support the development of buisness processes and artefacts to ensure compliance with incoming and evolving regulations around AI and other new technologies including the EU AI Regulations, Law 31814 (Peru), National AI Initiative Act, AI Training Act (USA)
  • innovate and streamline existing work processes to improve efficiency.
  • Engaging with stakeholders, documenting findings, preparing reports, and making recommendations.
  • Undertake requirements gathering, discovery and analysis as needed.
  • Act as an internal consultant to the business when interpreting user requests and where appropriate,
  • Keeping abreast of new technology and the implications for the firm.
  • Work with Risk and Compliance colleagues to assist with queries and resolve issues raised through R&C Helpdesk
  • Support team in undertaking any statutory and other obligations.

Required experience

  • Understand principles and methods of Risk Management such as identifying, recording, grading and mitigation
  • Have a working level knowledge of AI/Data and/or Privacy regulations or Information Security and interest in the emerging ethical issues in new technology
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience as a delivery/project manager
  • Proficient in the use of Office 365 (particularly Excel but experience or willingness to learn about Automate and Ediscovery)
