Role Purpose

The EMEA Data Centre Site Selection Consultant will work as part of a market leading data centre advisory team and will be responsible for the collation of market availability and development pipeline data which will support data centre transactions for our clients across the enterprise, technology and telecommunications sectors in EMEA.

We are seeking a highly motivated, organised individual who is keen to participate in and learn about the high-growth digital infrastructure sector. The successful candidate will be commercially minded with an ability to work effectively as part of a team and alongside large corporate and technology clients focused on closing high-profile, data centre real estate transactions.

Good communication and relationship building skills are essential as the role is likely to involve close liaison with both the CBRE office network around the world and global data centre developer /operators. The role is particularly suited to an individual who is looking to utilise and grow their data management and transactional experience through working with a range of global and regional data centre developer/operators as well as blue-chip corporate organisations across multiple geographies. This role requires someone who understands and appreciates the importance of using discretion with important company information.

The successful candidate will work as part of a small close-knit team based in London. Though small, globally it is the largest specialist team in its field based in one location and further benefits from the wider CBRE global network. The team specialises in technology focused real estate which is an exciting, dynamic and fast-moving industry sector providing team members with opportunities to develop new business skills in addition to those of the traditional real estate industry.

Key Responsibilities:

The position calls for a highly motivated and confident individual who will primarily:

  • Collect and analyze availability data from global and regional data centre developer operators working with colleagues from the Occupier Services team;
  • Prepare deliverables (market summaries and presentations) for client specific projects and and prospective requirements on time and to a high quality, as well as leading on discrete pieces of work within projects/workstream
  • Respond to team / client inquiries in a timely manner
  • Communicate regularly with CBRE stakeholders and industry sources
  • Help to build relationships of trust with the data centre developers / operator in order to obtain the most accurate market information as well as clients and prospects.

Candidates will have developed data management and data collation capabilities with the ability to present this data professionally in both excel and presentation formats.

Candidates with consultancy, real estate and data management backgrounds will also be strongly considered.

Person Specification/Requirements:

  • Be keenly interested in the technology and digital infrastructure sectors ; a knowledge of and / or interest in the data centre industry would be preferred.
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Be commercially astute
  • Be ambitious and self-motivated
  • Possess good interpersonal skills and ability to quickly form professional relationships with colleagues and clients at all levels of seniority
  • Have the ability to prioritise and co-ordinate tasks efficiently
  • Maintain a positive attitude towards routine tasks
  • Maintain accurate and exceptional attention to detail
  • Be proactive and enjoy working autonomously and as part of a wider team
  • Be confident and assertive where required
  • Sociable, outgoing personality who enjoys working in a team
