Job Title: Electronics Design Engineer

Salary: Up to £48,180 Depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:

Immediate work will be design proving of first off PECs to allow integration into system
-
Compliance Proving
-
Developing test jigs for PECs (custom interface boards)
-
Development of test specifications
-
Supporting system integration and design proving
-
Maintaining good documentation of design information
-
Engagement with hardware and software engineers both within the local team and with other sections.

Implementation of required design changes (updating circuit designs and working with PCB Layout engineers)
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
-
A good understanding of electronic design both Analogue & Digital
-
Degree qualification or time served experience
-
Capable of circuit analysis
-
Good practical fault finding skills
Desirable:
-
Previous experience of operating in a defence or high safety integrity environment
-
Experience of low-noise analogue techniques
-
Knowledge of high-power techniques (kW level)
-
Experience of FPGA/CPLD development

Underwater Battlespace SRMLU (Stingray Midlife Upgrade) Sonar Team:
This role very much relies upon collaboration between team members, to share ideas and ensure a joined-up approach. Although the team will provide support and guidance, it is expected that the successful applicant will be able to independently research solutions to problems. The small team size dictates that each person is covering many varied aspects of electronic design work.
