Electrical Site Manager (Substations)
- Location: M4 Corridor (UKPN Projects)
- Type: Permanent or Contract
- Salary: Up to £65,000 (Permanent) or £400 per day (Contract)
Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee electrical site activities, particularly focused on substations, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
- Site Supervision: Manage and supervise on-site electrical installations, commissioning, and decommissioning work, guaranteeing compliance with UKPN standards and regulations.
- Health, Safety, and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all HSE regulations and safety protocols, implementing and monitoring safety plans in line with UKPN requirements.
- Team Coordination: Direct and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site staff to ensure efficient workflow and resource allocation.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure work meets technical specifications and quality standards.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain strong communication with project managers, engineers, clients, and local authorities, providing regular updates on progress, challenges, and milestones.
- Documentation: Maintain and oversee project documentation, including risk assessments, method statements, and daily site logs.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical project/site management, ideally with a background in substations or utility infrastructure.
- Certifications: SMSTS/SSSTS, ECS/CSCS card (Site Manager level), and familiarity with UKPN safety standards.
- Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of substation equipment, HV/LV systems, and electrical safety protocols. Proficiency in project management software is advantageous.
- Education: Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred.
- Personal Attributes: Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills with a proactive and safety-first mindset.
Additional Details:
- Travel Requirement: Willingness to travel along the M4 Corridor to various sites.
