Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
About Us:Our client is part of the ED2 Alliance, a collaboration of leading infrastructure companies charged with delivering a significant £1bn program over the 2023-2028 regulatory period. The Alliance is focused on maintaining and upgrading essential power networks across the Southern and Eastern regions.
The Role:As a Substation Build Manager, you will manage the procurement, manufacture, and on-site execution of electrical works for a new 132kV Substation. You will ensure the highest standards of Health, Safety, and Quality are maintained while overseeing the project's successful delivery to the correct specifications.
Responsibilities:

  • Manage the safe and timely delivery of complex electrical projects, ensuring compliance with quality standards, budgets, and timelines.
  • Oversee Health and Safety on-site by conducting inspections, raising observations, and reporting incidents.
  • Produce and review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring their implementation and updates as required.
  • Lead and manage subcontractors and direct labor, ensuring that all team members are competent, supervised, and delivering to project standards.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Team on procurement processes and financial forecasting.

Requirements:This role is ideal for you if you have:

  • Proven experience in managing high-voltage (HV) electrical projects, with a solid understanding of industry standards.
  • Prior experience working on substation projects is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as CSCS/EUSR and SMSTS, and ideally degree-qualified or working towards chartership.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with a full UK driving license.
