About the role
Are you an experienced Electrical Construction Manager looking to lead major projects that make a real difference? At Balfour Beatty, we're shaping the future of UK infrastructure, and we're looking for an Electrical Construction Manager to join our team based in the South East.
What you'll be doing
As Electrical Construction Manager, you'll take full ownership of the construction phase, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. You'll:
- Lead site teams and manage subcontractors to meet programme, cost, and quality targets.
- Drive a Zero Harm culture, inspiring your team to prioritise safety and continuous improvement.
- Manage construction activities, briefings, RAMS, and ensure works are carried out to programme.
- Report progress at monthly reviews and keep stakeholders fully informed.
- Support sustainability goals by promoting efficient solutions around waste, energy, and water.
- Engage with the local community and support skills development programmes where required.
- Work closely with Project Managers, QS, Design and Planning teams to deliver operational excellence.
- Manage post-completion issues and maintain positive customer relationships.
Who we're looking for
We're looking for a strong leader who can bring confidence, organisation, and problem-solving skills to complex projects. You should have:
- Proven Construction Management experience within the industry.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams.
- Strong planning, organisational, and financial awareness.
- A valid CSCS card and SMSTS qualification.
- First Aid, Temporary Works Coordinator, Asbestos Awareness, and Fire Marshal training.
- Experience working as Principal/Main Contractor in live operational environments.
- Familiarity with BIM 360 Field/Plan and Lean Construction principles (desirable).
- Relevant professional or technical qualifications (desirable).
