Qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Degree level or equivalent in Occupational Therapy
  • Current registration with relevant professional body

Desirable criteria

  • Occupational Health experience/qualification
  • Report writing training
  • Teaching / mentor qualification

Knowledge

Essential criteria

  • Professional and legal knowledge in relation to fitness for work assessments and the writing of management feedback reports
  • Policy, process and protocol development

Desirable criteria

  • Health and lifestyle initiatives

Training and Experience

Essential criteria

  • Designing, implementing and monitoring employee rehabilitation programmes including return to work plans
  • Working within an Occupational Health / Employee Health & Wellbeing or case management setting
  • Case Conferences / Multi-Disciplinary Team discussions
  • Proven report writing skills
  • Audit and evaluation of professional practice

Desirable criteria

  • Working with IT database systems or specific OH systems
  • Delivering workplace and ergonomic assessments
  • Delivering functional capability assessments
  • Delivering training and education programmes
  • Networking

Skills and Abilities

Essential criteria

  • Proficient in employee rehabilitation programmes
  • Proficient in case conference meetings and multi-disciplinary team discussions
  • Proficient in report writing
  • Ability to prioritise workload

  • Good written and verbal communication skills
