About the Role

As part of the Telford divisional leadership team, the role is to oversee the overall business management system and take the lead for the continual improvement of EHS compliance, departmental performance and systems, to deliver an evolving safety culture within the business, whilst making best use of resources. The remit of the role is for the Stamping & Assembly Operation, and Magna Advanced Automation.

Your Responsibilities

The role involves but is not limited to:-

  • Drive the execution of the EHS Zero Harm strategy for the division.
  • EHS leadership & behavioural safety development and deployment.
  • Owner of the EHS Management systems including division and group certifications to ISO14001/45001/50001 and internal auditing.
  • Meet the requirements of the Magna EHS programme.
  • Support the EHS elements of MAFACT (world class manufacturing standards).
  • Reporting of KPIs at senior and local levels weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting.
  • Risk management and safety improvements to improve incidence rates and reduce risk
  • Support the development of the leaders and workforce to facilitate safe working practices.
  • Provide support to the wider Stadco team to ensure compliance and safety development to drive cultural changes.
  • Be a point of call for EHS related advice to the Stadco business.
  • Represent the Stadco business externally for a variety of interested parties.
  • Manage and co-ordinate business E.L claims.
  • Ensure waste management controls are effective and landfill reduction strategies are in place and effective.
  • Support contractor control in conjunction with peers.
  • Deliver / supportIOSH training programmes across the business where required.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for all EHS related queries.
  • Challenge and educate the workforce and leaders behave in a way that is compliant with health and safety best practices.
  • Play and active and collaborative role with the leadership team to drive a safe working culture.

Your preferred qualifications

  • Previous experience working at EHS Manager level in a manufacturing environment, minimum 3 years.
  • Experience driving a strong health and safety culture including behavioural based safety
  • Experience in major risk environments
  • Knowledge of EHS legislation and its practical application
  • Comfortable to act as lead investigator
  • Conversant with ISO45001 and 14001/50001 standards
  • Experienced lead auditor
  • Intermediate Excel skills including gathering and working with high volumes of data
  • IT literate and able to navigate portals to upload data
  • Able to coach, train, and challenge individuals and practices in a collaborative and supportive manner
  • Experience and knowledge in the use of LOTO.
