The Role
Permanent role
The Editorial Coordinator is a key part of the small Scripted Commissioning team. The team is composed of the Director of Drama, Head of Scripted Comedy and three Commissioners. The role is structured around two core areas of responsibility: providing strong administrative and organisational support on office days, and offering editorial reading support on home-working days.
On office days, the role is focused on helping the team run smoothly and efficiently, including diary management for two commissioners, meeting coordination, welcoming or collecting guests, and maintaining key team systems such as submission logs, reading lists, slates and databases.
On home-working days, the role is focused on reading incoming submissions and development material, identifying projects with real potential, and feeding those back clearly and confidently to commissioners. A key part of the role is helping surface the most exciting and relevant ideas for the team to consider as well as turning down ideas that don't feel right to pursue.
The responsibilities for the role are:
- Providing day-to-day administrative support to two commissioners - managing diaries, meeting logistics and guest coordination for them.
- Maintaining submissions lists, slates, logs, databases and other commissioning systems accurately and efficiently.
- Supporting the smooth running of the commissioning process through general administration and coordination.
- Reading scripts, treatments, proposals and other incoming submissions on home-working days.
- Identifying strong and relevant ideas that align with the ITV brief and pitching back clearly to commissioners about those that fit the brief and those that don't.
- Pitching standout submissions and ideas that feel distinctive, exciting or worth pursuing.
- Ensuring submissions are tracked properly and responded to professionally and within an appropriate timeframe.
- Helping keep team documents, systems and internal materials organised and up to date.
- Supporting the team in maintaining positive and professional relationships with producers, writers and agents across the UK TV landscape and internationally.
Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
- Strong editorial judgement and an understanding of story and pitching.
- Strong administrative skills, including confidence managing diaries, lists, systems and databases.

- Some understanding of the UK scripted television landscape.
Other things we're looking for (key criteria)
- A clear and confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills who can pitch confidently.
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Highly organised and comfortable managing a high volume of information.
- Proactive, collaborative and able to work effectively in a fast-paced but small team.
- Comfortable working independently when reading and assessing submissions.
- Good judgement when giving constructive feedback on material that is not being pursued.
