The role
This role puts you at the heart of post-production, delivering vital technical support and quality control. You'll manage media, ensure broadcast-ready content, and work directly with productions, mastering everything from ingest to playout. Responsibilities range from meticulous QC and media management to supporting editors and producers, ensuring projects meet the highest technical standards. Skills you'll need (minimum criteria)
- Experienced within a post production facility or department (at least 6 months) with a thorough understanding of the post production process and related technology.
- Experience in an Assistant Editor role for a UK TV Production company with a good knowledge of post production workflows such as backup, ingest and multicam syncing.
- Availability to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and occasional nights, as well as potential weekend and bank holiday work, based on operational needs. The standard work pattern is Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM, but flexibility is essential.
- A thorough knowledge of broadcast standards and file formats, camera codecs, production processes and systems.
- Experienced with Avid Media Composer/Premiere Pro.Technically able to analyse video and audio quality to broadcast standards.
- Good understanding of IT networks.
- Communication skills- a proven ability to communicate effectively with the capacity to work with tact and diplomacy.
