Base Location:Perth or Aberdeen

Salary: £55,200 - £83,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

SSEN Transmission has a fantastic opportunity for an Economics Manager to join our Investment Appraisal and Analysis team. Through leading accelerated analysis-driven regulatory and economic decision making you will support the delivery of key strategic net zero infrastructure in the north of Scotland. You will lead a team of analysts to deliver essential insights and provide strategic guidance to the business as it navigates the complex and rapidly evolving energy transition.

The key duties & responsibilities will include:

- Conduct thorough economic assessments of future infrastructure projects, including cost-benefit analyses and wider socioeconomic benefit assessments, to inform project feasibility and investment decisions.

- Own and manage SSENT's investment decision making methodology, ensuring it evolves to cater for evolving strategic investment priorities, including Area System Planning.

- Delivery of economic analysis and supporting documentation to support regulatory approval for large network investments.

- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, environmental and sustainability analysts, and policy experts, to ensure a holistic understanding of project requirements and to develop integrated solutions.

- Produce high-quality reports and presentations that effectively communicate complex economic concepts and findings to diverse stakeholders, both internal and external.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- A degree in Economics, Finance, Energy Economics, or a related field.

- Line management experience (essential).

- Demonstrated expertise in economic analysis and a proven track record in conducting economic assessments for large infrastructure projects.

- In-depth knowledge of the UK electricity networks energy sector, including policies and regulation.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex economic concepts in a clear and concise manner and a collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

- Passion for sustainability and renewable energy, coupled with a commitment to contributing to a more sustainable future.
