Ecommerce Trading Manager

This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK's leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.

Purpose of the Role

The Ecommerce Trading Manager is responsible for the day-to-day commercial performance of Nkuku's D2C and Trade websites.

This role owns trading execution, onsite experience, and digital optimisation - driving growth in conversion, AOV, margin, and customer engagement. It requires a hands-on operator who can take ownership, make decisions, and deliver without close supervision.

Working cross-functionally with Growth, Merchandising, Trade, Marketing, and Creative, the role ensures the digital experience reflects Nkuku's Natural, Crafted, Ethical values while delivering consistent commercial performance.

This is a role for someone who is comfortable owning the detail, whilst thinking commercially - ensuring every campaign, category, and customer journey performs to its full potential.

Key Responsibilities

Trading & Commercial Performance

  • Own day-to-day trading performance across D2C and Trade websites.
  • Plan and execute the onsite trading calendar, including promotions, campaigns, and product launches.
  • Lead weekly trading reviews, analysing performance vs budget, forecast, and last year, and translating this into clear actions.
  • Monitor and drive performance across conversion, AOV, margin, Demand, and Banked.
  • Optimise navigation, filtering, search, and product merchandising to improve conversion and product discovery.
  • Work closely with Merchandising and Trade to align stock, intake, pricing, and markdown activity.
  • Ensure strong execution of seasonal moments, campaigns, and key trading events.
  • Manage key third-party relationships across CRO, email, and digital performance partners.

Onsite Experience & Optimisation

  • Own the end-to-end onsite experience across all devices.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvements to UX and CRO based on data, insight, and customer behaviour.
  • Maintain a clear and prioritised backlog of onsite improvements, focused on commercial impact.
  • Translate trading and customer insight into practical, testable improvements.
  • Ensure the site is fast, intuitive, and commercially effective at all stages of the journey.

Digital Development & Delivery

  • Manage the digital development roadmap, prioritising work based on business impact and resource.
  • Own the relationship with development partners, including briefing, QA, testing, and delivery.
  • Deliver key digital projects such as theme enhancements, personalisation, and functionality improvements.
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality execution of onsite changes and releases.

Content, SEO & Brand Execution

  • Oversee onsite content to ensure it is commercially effective and aligned with brand storytelling.
  • Manage seasonal content updates, campaign launches, and collection storytelling.
  • Work with Marketing and SEO teams to improve organic visibility and content performance.
  • Ensure consistency of brand across all digital touchpoints.

Customer & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Champion the customer journey from discovery through to checkout.
  • Work closely with Growth (Performance, CRM, Email) to align onsite activity with marketing campaigns.
  • Collaborate with Customer Service and Operations to identify and resolve friction points.
  • Use customer feedback and behavioural data to inform improvements.

Leadership & Ownership

  • Lead and develop the ecommerce trading team, setting clear priorities and expectations.
  • Take ownership of outcomes, not just activity - driving performance through action.
  • Work confidently across teams to align priorities and ensure delivery.
  • Bring structure, pace, and accountability to trading and onsite execution.

What Success Looks Like

  • Consistent growth in conversion rate, AOV, and margin.
  • Demand and Banked performance meeting or exceeding targets.
  • A clear and effective trading rhythm with strong execution of campaigns and key moments.
  • A structured CRO and optimisation programme delivering measurable improvements.
  • A site experience that is intuitive, fast, and reflective of Nkuku's premium positioning.
  • Strong alignment between Trading, Growth, and Merchandising teams.
  • Improved customer engagement and repeat purchase.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in an ecommerce trading role within a D2C business.
  • Strong commercial instinct with the ability to manage both detail and performance.
  • Hands-on experience of onsite trading, merchandising, and optimisation.
  • Comfortable working with Shopify (or similar platforms) and development teams.
  • Confident using data to make decisions and prioritise activity.
  • Self-sufficient and proactive - able to take ownership without needing close direction.
  • Collaborative and pragmatic, with the ability to get things done across teams.

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to take real ownership of a growing ecommerce business and have a direct impact on performance.

You will work closely with senior leadership but will be trusted to run trading day-to-day - shaping how Nkuku shows up digitally and how effectively it converts.
