Reporting to the Head of Lifelong Learning, you will play a pivotal role in our Early Careers Development strategy. As the leader of all qualification delivery, you will be responsible for the end-to-end strategic approach to Early Careers Development professional qualifications both for the early career's population but equally any Life Long Learning qualification requirements. Working closely with experts from across the learning function, you will ensure that the exam and qualification pathways will be woven for a manageable and engaging experience. Providing day-to-day leadership of the ECD managers and assistant managers you will be the escalation for all qualification requirements at KPMG, both in terms of risk management, development of new propositions and developing creative solutions that form part of the Lifelong Learning strategy. You'll be a role model within the high performing team, adept at collaborating, communicating, influencing, coaching, and educating those around you. Y ou will be adept as using data to create insight, and your business recommendations will be underpinned by insight. You will be an expert in all professional qualifications across our sector and have experience of running these from a strategic, contractual, and operational perspective.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning

  • Leading, managing, and developing a team of Early Careers professionals, seeking to develop their technical competence and oversee the management of supplier relations at all times.
  • Building trusted advisor relationships with senior leaders in the business. Seen as the go-to person by the business for all professional qualification development and delivery.
  • Develop strategic insight into marketplace best practice both in terms of Professional education, Apprenticeship programmes, levy funding and student development.
  • Accountable to define which programmes and exam pathways each of the Manager team members align to
  • Review all policies in line with the new Intranet standards and working closely with People Operations and OEH/KLS. Ensure all student policies are simple, clear, and wherever possible streamline policy standards such as exam pathways, treatment of exam fails, deferment and promotions.
  • Accountable for ECD vendor relationships, developing marketplace reputation for KPMG and constantly seeking to improve the quality of programmes and recommend changes.
  • Accountable for all contracts within ECD leading an ACA tender in FY25.
  • Working with external vendors and suppliers to maximise the budget and create cost efficiencies without impacting the quality of programmes.
  • Working closely with suppliers, always looking for ways to improve the students' experience and gathering Voice of the Customer feedback regularly.
  • Accountable for all risk procedures within the professional qualification space
  • Develop a proposition for Levy share with the Head of Lifelong Learning.

Strategic Management

  • Ensure that KPMG's professional education offering and ECD programmes remain competitive in the external market and enable the firm to recruit and retain the best early career talent.
  • Manage and have an oversight of all programmes, and exam results, making recommendations in respect of those who have failed one or more papers and working closely with the HR team to provide support to the Partners and students
  • Work closely with the Head of Content Enablement to drive efficiency and effectiveness in the aligned KLS services

Operational excellence

  • Drive and provide meaningful management information to the business to measure the effectiveness of student programmes and qualification pathways, working with the Head of Content Enablement
  • Manage and escalate risks and issues pertaining to programmes, qualifications and service levels from both suppliers and KLS.
  • Manage and escalate risks and issues pertaining to programmes, qualifications and service levels to the Head of Lifelong Learning.
  • Support the Head of Lifelong Learning by managing the Professional qualification portion of the Lifelong learning Budget.

People Leadership

  • Performance manage of all Early Careers Development managers, plus delegating as PL for the Head of Lifelong Learning when they are not around.
  • Promote diversity, have a broad perspective of potential issues encountered when managing diverse teams and the strategies to overcome them; and a clear understanding of the firm's commitment to creating a more inclusive culture.
  • Uphold and role model the firm's Values .

Requirements

    • Degree at a Bachelor level required or equivalent
    • Professional training / HR development / education qualifications in relevant subject area.
    • Experience at senior manager and/or as an experienced manager level and have a proven track record in core HR competencies and exposure to the associated risks.
    • Understanding of professional qualifications and the application of the apprenticeship levy to maximize return on investment for the business.
    • With a passion for early careers, essential to have worked in the Early Careers resourcing or development space for a number of years, either in Professional Services or a FTSE 100 or Financial Services firm.
    • Adept at communicating, influencing, coaching, educating, challenging, and managing senior stakeholders.
    • Strong financial management / commercial acumen.
    • Proven team leadership and management skills and ability to create a high performing, motivating, supportive and collaborative team environment.
    • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills to address diverse organisational stakeholders at all levels.
