Job Description

We are currently looking for a Duty Manager to join an established and successful team, could this be you? Lansdowne Secure Children's home is one of only 14 in the England & Wales and is a modern, state of the art building with excellent and diverse facilities.

The Duty manager is a crucial position within the structure of the home and shall bring a strong presence to the home and support and encourage both children and staff to be the best version of themselves. the post holder will be a member of the Operational Management Team (OMT) and shall form part of the Duty Manager rota (24/7 365 rota).

The role will require leading and managing a group of Team Leaders and Secure Residential Support Workers in the delivery of high-quality childcare to the children placed at Lansdowne Secure Children's Home with a constant emphasis on safeguarding. Managing and deploying day to day resources within the home to ensure that children's needs are met in line with their care plans and the statement of purpose and function. Leading by example by keeping abreast of emerging challenges and themes and utilising a best practice approach to meet demand and ensure continuous improvement and professional development.

You will be working as part of a dedicated and skilled team in an environment that can make a meaningful impact to the lives of children who need it most.

We will be looking for candidates who have:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable children.
  • Team Management and Leadership experience
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection

It is vital that all staff fully understand and undertake their role with professionalism and in accordance with the safeguarding policy and procedures. We take our safeguarding responsibilities extremely seriously and expect those working with our children to maintain high standards of vigilance, respect, reporting and professional curiosity at all times. You will be given extensive training and ongoing support to fully undertake this part of your role and as such will be held to high standards to help keep children safe.
