Job Description
Lansdowne Secure Children's home is one of only 14 in the England & Wales and is a modern, state of the art building with excellent and diverse facilities. We are currently looking to expand the capacity of the home following the successful reopening of the home in January 2024.
As part of expansion plans, we are looking for a Duty Manager to lead day to day operations of the service in helping to provide excellent care to some of the most vulnerable children. The Duty manager is a crucial position within the structure of the home and shall bring a strong presence to the home and support and encourage both children and staff to be the best version of themselves. the post holder will be a member of the Operational Management Team (OMT) and shall form part of the Duty Manager rota (24/7 365 rota). You will be working as part of a dedicated and skilled team in an environment that can make a meaningful impact to the lives of children who need it most.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Lead and manage a group of Team Leaders and Secure Residential Support Workers in the delivery of high-quality childcare to the children placed at Lansdowne Secure Children's Home with a constant emphasis on safeguarding.
- Manage and deploy day to day resources within the home to ensure that children's needs are met in line with their care plans and the statement of purpose and function.
- Lead by example by keeping abreast of emerging challenges and themes and utilising a best practice approach to meet demand and ensure continuous improvement and professional development.
We are looking for people who:
- Have proven leadership skills
- Knowledge of workforce development and continual professional development.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management / Senior Practitioner for Residential Childcare or equivalent such as professional qualification in social work and/or other relevant subject area at Level 5 (Must be willing to work towards L5 Diploma if not already achieved).
