Full time: 37 hours per week on average (1.0fte) currently based on 4 days on and 4 days off over 8 weeks

About this role

We are currently seeking a Duty Manager to work evenings and nights, on a rota basis over a 7-day shift pattern to support our 24/7 operations.

The Duty Manager will provide a safe and secure environment for students, staff and visitors by working with the contracted site security and other Estate Management staff to deliver a proactive service across all University sites. When on duty, the post holder will act as the University's lead person in response to incidents and assist with the management of the University's security systems.

Please note that day shift hours will be required during the initial induction period, training days or as and when business needs arise.

About you

An excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills and a calm manner, the post holder will resolve and mediate issues whilst providing first level pastoral care for resident students as required, ensuring the security and safety of students by maintaining a visible and high profile on campus.

With knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety Management principles, the Duty Manager will assist with building lock-ups, room set ups and undertake statutory compliance testing.
