Job Description

As a Duty Engineering Manager for Airside, you will ensure the smooth and safe running of all Airside engineering activities, maintaining our reputation for excellence in passenger service and safety. Our Airside Duty Engineering Managers driving continuous improvements in asset performance, with proactive management of the service level agreements and key performance indicators as appropriate to business area, developing and managing key internal and external stakeholder relationships and provide engineering support to the business, Ensuring that the team adhere to all company policies and procedures and reduce risk where practicable, including resource management, leave requests, performance management, budgets including overtime and timesheet management.

Responsibilities

  • Leading and mentoring a team of multi-skilled team of Technicians at Heathrow. engineering professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
  • Creating an inclusive environment where safety, best practice and continuous improvement are championed.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize airside operations and drive innovation.
  • Engaging and coaching the team to continuously build their technical competence and broader skillset.
  • Ensuring that assets are managed in line with maintenance plans through coordinating all engineering and facilities activities (such as maintenance and inspections) within a business unit.

Qualifications

  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in a recognised engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrable analytical skills with sound problem-solving ability to address airside operational challenges.
  • A drive to implement innovative solutions that enhance efficiency and safety.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Profound knowledge of airside operations and engineering principles.
  • Familiarity with airport regulations and safety standards to ensure compliance.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a team of engineers and technicians.

Ideally you will also have:

  • IOSH certificate in Managing Safely
